July 6, 2018•Danzante, part of the Frescobaldi portfolio and handled in the U.S. by Shaw-Ross International, is adding a Prosecco to its product range. Retailing at $15 a bottle, Danzante Prosecco is rolling out now to select on- and off-premise establishments in the U.S. Danzante, known for its Pinot Grigio, moved to the Shaw-Ross portfolio in the final quarter of 2017, when Frescobaldi split from longtime U.S. importer Folio Fine Wine Partners. Shaw-Ross was appointed to handle the namesake Frescobaldi lineup as well as Danzante, while Vintus is now importing high-end Frescobaldi wines like Ornellaia, Masseto, Luce della Vite, and Attems.
•Islay single malt Scotch label Kilchoman has launched two new limited-edition whiskies. A vatting of 30 ruby Port casks first filled in 2014, the Kilchoman Port Cask Matured 2018 Edition clocks in at 50%-abv and lists a retail price of $125 a 750-ml. 10,000 bottles of the new whisky were produced. Meanwhile, the Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2018 ($110) was matured in 19 Oloroso Sherry butts that were filled in 2007, 2008, and 2011. 15,000 bottles of the 46%-abv whisky were made. Kilchoman is handled in the U.S. by California-based importer ImpEx Beverages.
