July 30, 2018•Cooperstown, New York’s Brewery Ommegang has launched Hopstate IPA, the newest beer in the brewery’s Farmhouse Series. The 7.4%-abv ale is brewed with Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, and Nugget hops, all sourced from New York farms. The beer also uses New York-grown barley from 1886 Malt House and includes flaked oats. Hopstate IPA is now available on the East Coast on draft and in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans for $13. Ommegang is part of the Duvel Moortgat USA family of breweries.
•Oregon-based Rogue Ales & Spirits has released Combat Wombat, a new sour IPA. The 7.2%-abv brew combines the juicy flavors of a hazy IPA with the tart character of a citrusy sour ale, according to the brewery. Combat Wombat is brewed with Citra, BRU-1, Vic Secret, and Galaxy Hops from Australia with added blood orange and grapefruit. The beer is rolling out on draft and in 22-ounce bottles through October.
