August 29, 2018•Fort Collins, Colorado-based Old Elk Distillery has partnered with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and Atlantic Beverage Distributors to expand into 19 new states, effective this month. The craft distiller’s Old Elk Blended Straight Bourbon whiskey ($50), Dry Town gin ($35), and Nooku Bourbon Cream ($31) are now available in 21 total states. SGWS has brought Old Elk to Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia, while ABD handles the brand in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
•Texas craft spirits producer Rebecca Creek Distillery has teamed up with Athens Distributing to enter the Tennessee market. The partnership will bring Rebecca Creek Fine Texas whiskey, Texas Ranger whiskey, Enchanted Rock vodka, and Enchanted Rock peach vodka to on- and off-premise locations throughout the state. Tennessee is the eleventh market for Rebecca Creek, joining Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, and South Carolina.
•Founders Brewing Co. will launch Trigo, a new hoppy wheat lager, in September. The 6.3%-abv lager, made with a blend of American hops, was designed in collaboration with the craft brewer’s part-owner, Mahou San Miguel. Trigo will be released to celebrate Grand Rapids’ ArtPrize international art competition, and will launch in the Founders’ taproom in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 14. It will be available in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft across the U.S. market by late September.
