Edrington Names McCroskie As New CEO
December 7, 2018Edrington has announced that longtime CEO Ian Curle is stepping down in March 2019, after 32 years with the company. Replacing Curle will be Scott McCroskie, who’s currently an Edrington board member and the managing director of the company’s Macallan single malt Scotch whisky brand.
Curle began his career in 1986 with a job at former Edrington subsidiary Lang Brothers, serving in various roles before becoming CEO of Edrington in 2004. Under his guidance, Edrington developed an international sales and distribution network, and cultivated a portfolio of luxury spirits brands, among them The Macallan, Highland Park, and Glenrothes Scotch whiskies. McCroskie will assume the CEO role in April 2019.
Edrington’s revenues rose 7% at constant currency to £707 million ($940m) for its fiscal year through March, with profit before tax increasing 3% to £195 million ($259m). Besides its Scotch range, the company’s U.S. portfolio also includes Brugal rum, Snow Leopard vodka, Tequila Partida, and Wyoming Whiskey.—Julia Higgins
