Coppola Debuts First Oregon Wines

The Family Coppola has introduced Domaine de Broglie, a new upscale Oregon wine brand. The move follows Coppola’s recent purchase of the former Vista Hills Vineyard from the McClintock and McDaniel families for an undisclosed sum.

Situated in the Dundee Hills subappellation of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the new Domaine de Broglie label launches with three estate-grown Pinot Noirs retailing at around $56 a 750-ml.: the 2017 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Block C-Clone 777, 2017 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Block G-Pommard Clone, and 2017 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Block B-Clone 114. The portfolio also includes a Pinot Noir Dundee Hills ($36) blended from multiple vineyard blocks.

The Domaine de Broglie property includes a tasting room and an event room, both open to the public, as well as 42 acres of estate vineyards planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris. The name refers to French scientist Louis de Broglie, the 1929 Nobel Prize winner in Physics.—Julia Higgins
