Craft Brewing and Distilling News for March 8, 2019
March 8, 2019•Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) has posted net sales up 1.3% to $182 million for 2018. Growth was driven by Kona Brewing, which saw depletions rise by 8%—or about 30,000 barrels—last year, boosted by a 26% increase for its Big Wave Golden Ale. Kona has added over 125,000 incremental barrels in the last three years. Kona’s recently launched Kanaha Blonde Ale, a beer with 99 calories a serving, also contributed to CBA’s progress.
•Two seasonal beers from Newport, Oregon-based Rogue Brewing are rolling out this month. The first is Cold Brew 2.0, a 5.6% abv blonde ale brewed with cold brew coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. The other is Paradise Pucker, a 6% abv sour ale brewed with passion fruit, orange, and guava in a tribute to Hawaii. Both will be available from March through June, with Cold Brew 2.0 available on draft and in 6-packs of 12-once cans and Paradise Pucker launching on draft and in individual 22-ounce bottles. Rogue now operates four locations in Oregon.
