May 7, 2019•Portland, Oregon-based Cascade Brewing and Danish brewer Mikkeller have come together to brew Bean-to-Barrel Triple, a new aged sour ale. The 9.4% abv beer is a blend of sour ales matured in Oregon and French oak with added Danish cocoa nibs. The beer will be available on draft and in 500-ml. bottles at Cascade’s two Portland locations and in limited quantities throughout the brand’s distribution footprint. In addition, the beer will be available at the Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen.
•A group of local investors led by David Schlafly has acquired a controlling interest in the Saint Louis Brewery, maker of the Schlafly beer brand. David Schlafly, a commercial real estate developer, is a cousin of co-founder Tom Schlafly, who will remain chairman of the brewery and a minority stakeholder, along with private equity firm Sage Capital. Schlafly’s beers are distributed across 12 states.
