July 23, 2019•Founders Brewing Co. has revealed the fourth 2019 installment in its Barrel-Aged Series, Underground Mountain Brown. The new entry is an Imperial Brown Ale brewed with Sumatra Coffee and aged in Bourbon barrels in underground caves. The 11.9% abv beer will launch at Founders’ taprooms in Grand Rapids and Detroit on August 16 before wider distribution begins later in the month in 4-packs of 12-ounce bottles and 750-ml. bottles. Underground Mountain Brown joins Más Agave, KBS, and Backwoods Bastard in the Barrel-Aged Series; another installment will follow in November.
•DuClaw Brewing Company will roll out its latest release, Regular Beer, through the rest of the summer. The 4.9% abv lager is made with Pilsner, CaraPils, and Vienna malt, and flaked rice, with Chinook and Hallertau hops. According to the Baltimore, Maryland-based brewery, the beer was created to add a straightforward, easy-drinking brew to the company’s varied lineup. By the end of the summer, Regular Beer will be available in DuClaw’s 19-market distribution footprint.
