Craft Brewing and Distilling News for September 27
September 27, 2019•Hawaii’s Kōloa Rum has announced an expansion that will more than double its current facility, creating a 45,000-square-foot distillery and barrel warehouse. The new space, to be completed in September 2020, will also be the home of the company’s tasting room, education center (dedicated to the history of sugar cane on the island), café, and a company store. In addition to expanding its production facilities, Kōloa will also plant roughly 10 acres of sugar cane on site while partnering with local growers as the company begins its push to use only cane sourced from the island of Kauai.
