Cannabis Briefs for December 10, 2019
December 10, 2019•Denver, Colorado’s Keef Brands has announced a total packaging revamp, with the company launching its rebranded products in California and Colorado in early 2020. The rebrand brings a new logo and can/bottle design to the company’s products, plus new names for Keef’s releases. Keef Cola will now be marketed as Keef Classic Soda, Keef Shots will be sold as Keef Mocktails, and Keef Energy will be labeled separately from Keef Cola. In addition, Keef Sparkling H20 and Keef Life H20 will be available with the new logos and design aesthetic.
•Chicago, Illinois-based Cresco Labs has completed its first harvest from its expanded cultivation facility in Lincoln, Illinois, the largest in the state. Cresco’s facilities under Illinois’ medical program totaled 35,000 square feet; earlier this year they began an expansion plan that will bring their footprint up to 243,000 square feet by year end. The Lincoln facility comprises 224,000 square feet and the company is licensed for up to 630,000 square feet, though it is unclear if they will pursue the full amount. Nearly every new cannabis market is plagued by initial supply problems, as in-state cultivation struggles to keep up and federal prohibition prevents shipment from oversupplied markets like Oregon.
