Wine Spectator Looks Ahead
March 23, 2020Marvin R. Shanken Announces Revised Plans For Wine Spectator’s 2020 Grand Tour
In these times of pandemic and social distancing, the world seems upside-down. But even while we grapple with disruption and difficulty, we can continue to enjoy the quiet pleasures of good food and wine at home.
Unfortunately, events that bring wine lovers together in larger numbers must wait for better days. Therefore, following the guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to protect the well-being of our attendees and winery representatives, we are obliged to reschedule Wine Spectator’s 2020 Grand Tour, which showcases wineries from around the world for tastings in three cities.
However, we have worked with our host venues and are pleased to announce new dates for all three tastings:
•Washington, D.C.: Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 (Ronald Reagan Building)
•Chicago: Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 (Navy Pier)
•Las Vegas: Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 (The Mirage)
In the meantime, the Wine Spectator staff will continue to bring you information about the wine world. Along with our regular wine coverage, we are posting frequent updates on the impact of COVID-19 on the wine and restaurant industries. Wine Spectator has more.—Marvin R. Shanken
