•Two new straight ryes and a “botanical whisky” from Canada’s Forty Creek are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•Precept Wines has acquired Pampelonne, a sparkling wine cocktail producer. While financial details were not disclosed, the acquisition brings Pampelonne into Precept as wholly owned subsidiary. Pampelonne’s founders will remain active with the company, supporting sales and distribution growth. The sparkling wine cocktails come in 250-ml. cans and are available in four flavors: French 75, Rose Lime, Blood Orange Spritz, and La Peche. Pampelonne joins House Wine, Browne Family Vineyards, Gruet, Waterbrook, and Pendulum, among others, in Precept’s portfolio.
