•Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) has invested more than $1 million in new scholarship and mentorship programs that are aimed at increasing diversity, inclusivity, and opportunity throughout the wine industry. The five-year plan, which allocates $200,000 a year to the United Negro College Fund, comes on the heels of a virtual town hall meeting held back in June, during which a task force explored what NVV could do to support people of color. The newly created initiative is also accepting donations, with NVV hoping to build the fund beyond $1 million. Additionally, NVV has committed to investing more than $100,000 in two new mentorship programs created by industry organizations Wine Unify and Bâtonnage.

•Bacardi-owned Stillhouse Spirits has launched a program that will equip hurricane-prone homes across the Florida Panhandle with metal shutters. The Stillhouse “Unbreakable” Shutters initiative was created in partnership with SBP, a national disaster resilience and recovery nonprofit. Over 400 metal shutter panels will be provided and installed at homes that previously endured hurricane damage, and were subsequently rebuilt by SBP. Bacardi acquired Stillhouse late last year for an undisclosed sum.
