Monogram Launches Cannabis Line Backed By Jay-Z
December 15, 2020Los Angeles cannabis brand Monogram, backed by rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z, has released its first products, including four proprietary cannabis strains. Monogram was part of the recent merger that united California cannabis companies Caliva and Left Coast Ventures. Caliva has been working with Monogram since July 2019 and grew the brand’s cannabis at its growing facility in San Jose, now the flagship of the combined company.
Monogram is launching with its own bespoke cannabis strains named No. 88, No. 96, No. 70, and No. 01, respectively. It uses the simple designations light, medium (No. 88, No. 01), and heavy (No. 70, No. 96) to delineate the experience offered by each strain. The strains can be purchased as flower, available in 2- and 4-gram jars ($40 and $70, respectively), in the Loosies Preroll Pack of four prerolled joints ($40), or as the OG Handroll ($50), which “takes inspiration from the smoke experience of a premium cigar.”
“Cannabis has been around for thousands of years, yet it is still an industry whose legacy of skilled craftsmanship is often overlooked,” said Jay-Z. “I created Monogram to give cannabis the respect it deserves by showcasing the tremendous hard work, time and care that go into crafting a superior smoke.” Monogram products are available now from its website and Caliva, as well as at select Caliva retail locations in California.—Danny Sullivan
