•E-commerce platform Drizly has expanded into Atlanta, Georgia, following the recent legalization of online ordering and delivery of alcohol in the state. To kick off delivery service, Drizly has partnered with retailers A&M Beverage Company, ABC Package, Atlanta Package, Fairington Wine & Spirits, HD Wine Spirits+, Canton Package, Johns Creek Wine & Crystal, Pinkies Up Beer, Racetrack Foodmart, Savi Provisions, Side Door Liquors, The Savvy Cellars, Tower Beer, Wine & Spirits and Tucker Wine, Beer & Spirits to provide service to consumers within the city limits and nearby suburbs. Drizly more than tripled its business last year and expects 20% of all off-premise alcohol purchases to take place online in the next five years.
•New York’s Empire State Development has announced the Raising the Bar restaurant recovery fund. The initiative, which will distribute over $3 million, is supported by Diageo North America and Coastal Wine and Spirits (part of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits) and managed by the National Development Council. Restaurants throughout New York state can apply for up to $5,000 to comply with the state’s social distancing and Covid-19 dining regulations (including expanding delivery and takeout services and building outdoor dining infrastructure). In order to qualify for grants, restaurants must have no more than $3 million in 2019 revenue.
