Diageo Acquires Hard Seltzer Label Lone River Ranch Water
March 9, 2021Diageo has made a play in the burgeoning hard seltzer category, agreeing to acquire Far West Spirits and its Lone River Ranch Water brand for an undisclosed sum. Founder Katie Beal Brown will retain a minority interest and continue to lead the business on a day to day basis as CEO.
The Lone River brand includes Original Ranch Water hard seltzer flavored with organic blue agave nectar and lime juice, as well as Spicy and Rio Red Grapefruit expressions. Currently present across Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle, Lone River is at 4% abv and has 80 calories a serving.
