March 19, 2021•Honolulu, Hawaii-based Ko Hana Distillers has added 220 acres to its heirloom sugarcane farming operation, bolstering its production capacity by 300% to 75,000 cases annually. Ko Hana produces Hawaiian Agricole Rum made only from sugarcane rather than molasses. The distiller rotates through 34 varieties of sugarcane, lending differences to the product of each harvest. The land is in Hale‘iwa on the north shore of O‘ahu, where harvests can begin next year. Ko Hana Rum is available for purchase in California and Hawaii, as well as online.
•Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Tattersall Distilling is planning to open a destination distillery and production facility in River Falls, Wisconsin this fall. Designed by River Valley Architects, the new, 75,000-square-foot location will feature a full-service restaurant and cocktail bar for up to 150 guests, an outdoor patio with fire pits and lawn games, an amphitheater, a grand ballroom for up to 420 guests, and gift shop, among other amenities. The majority of Tattersall’s production will be shifted to the River Falls location, allowing the Minneapolis location to reopen its cocktail room. Tattersall now produces more than 30 spirits and liqueurs available in 30 states.
