•California-based Purple Brands plans to debut two bottled-in-bond offerings under its Redwood Empire Whiskey label this year. The move comes following 68% growth for Purple’s spirits business last year, driven by Redwood, as well as Benham’s Gin. Meanwhile, Purple has announced the promotion of Jeff Duckhorn to master distiller and the hiring of Lauren Patz as head distiller. Patz will report to Duckhorn, who has been with Purple for 10 years. Patz was the head distiller at Spirit Works Distillery in Sebastopol, California before coming to Purple.
