Wilson Daniels Adds Loire Valley’s Famille Joly To Import Range
April 19, 2021New York-based importer and marketer Wilson Daniels is expanding its French portfolio with the addition of Loire Valley producer Famille Joly. The Joly family’s 12th-century estate is comprised of three biodynamic Chenin Blanc vineyards anchored around the family monopole, Clos de la Coulée de Serrant, located in the Savennières appellation. Clos de la Coulée de Serrant’s namesake wine retails at $145.
The Famille Joly portfolio also includes second wine Clos de la Bergerie ($85), made from 3.2 hectares (8 acres) of vines in the AOC Roche aux Moine, as well as Les Vieux Clos ($70), from the AOC Savennières. Proprietor Nicolas Joly is renowned as a leader of biodynamic viticulture, with the estate operating according to biodynamic principles since 1981.—Daniel Marsteller
