Michel Doukeris To Become AB-InBev CEO On July 1, Succeeding Carlos Brito

AB-InBev has named Michel Doukeris as its global CEO, effective July 1. Doukeris is currently president of AB-InBev’s North America zone. A successor for that role will be named before July 1. Prior to leading the North America zone, Doukeris was the company’s global chief sales officer. Prior to that, he was president of the Asia Pacific zone, where he’s credited with accelerating top line, volume, and EBITDA growth and implementing the brewer’s High End division.

Doukeris succeeds Carlos Brito, who is stepping down after 15 years as CEO and 32 years with the company. Brito has steered AB-InBev through a turbulent time in the beer business, while transforming the company with landmark mergers and acquisitions, including InBev’s $52 billion deal for Anheuser-Busch in 2008, and more recently the company’s $100 billion play for SABMiller, which closed in 2018. During Brito’s tenure, the world’s largest brewer grew its market cap from $26 billion to $141 billion, revenue from $14.5 billion to $47 billion, and normalized EBITDA from $4.1 billion to $17.3 billion.—Daniel Marsteller
