•Bacardi rum has announced that it will cut its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in half starting next year.

 The rum brand’s GHG emissions will be reduced by 50% when a Combined Heat & Power system goes live next year at its distillery in Puerto Rico. The new system will replace heavy fuel oil with propane gas. The 50% reduction in Bacardi rum’s GHG emissions represents a 14% cut in the total emissions globally for family-owned Bacardi Ltd.

•Rémy Cointreau is extending its partnership with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), with the alliance covering 28 U.S. markets. Effective April 1, the new agreement includes Alaska, Arizona, California, D.C., Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington. Additionally, RNDC will act as broker for Rémy Cointreau USA in the control states of Alabama, Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

•Wine-based RTD brand BeatBox is launching a new 6% abv Zero Sugar line nationwide. The Zero Sugar line has lower alcohol by volume, fewer calories, and fewer carbs than BeatBox’s existing 11.1% Party Punch. The line extension will be hitting shelves in March in both single-serve Tetra format and a six-flavor variety pack. BeatBox added five new states to its footprint last year and says it now has distribution in over 23,000 retailers nationwide, including chains like Walmart, 7-Eleven, and Kroger. BeatBox more than doubled in size to just under a half-million cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.

•Napa-based importer and marketer Old Bridge Cellars is adding Napa Valley’s Goosecross Cellars to its portfolio. Previously, the Goosecross portfolio was available only direct-to-consumer. This month Old Bridge will begin rolling out Goosecross wines to the wholesale channel, with the product range including a 2021 Napa County Sauvignon Blanc ($25), 2020 Napa Valley Chardonnay ($33), 2019 Napa Valley Proprietary Red Wine Blend ($45) and 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($50). Goosecross is owned by Dave and Christi Ficeli, wine industry veterans who met while working at E.&J. Gallo.

•Las Vegas-based importer Liquor Starz is launching a new upscale mezcal brand called Nayasse. The Nayasse lineup initially includes Joven ($56), Reposado ($75), and Añejo ($110), all made from espadin agave, as well as an Ensamble ($190) that’s a blend of espadin and tepeztate. The range also includes a limited edition Añejo 21-year-old in a hand-painted bottle at $3,000, and at the entry level a collection of four RTD mezcal spritzers. Nayasse will debut across 10 U.S. markets—including California, New York, Florida, Nevada, and Texas—in April.
