Michigan And Illinois See Sales Trends Diverge In February
March 15, 2022Michigan’s Marijuana Regulatory agency reported that recreational cannabis sales reached $128.9 million in February, up from January’s $124.6 million but still short of December’s total of $135 million. Consumers in Michigan spent $63.7 million on flower last month, $29.8 million on vape cartridges, $18.5 million on edibles, $11 million on shake and trim, and $9 million on concentrates. Medical sales made for an additional $32.9 million in sales.
Over in Illinois, recreational sales slumped again in February, falling to $114 million, the state’s worst sales month in nearly a year. Sales were down $3 million from January and were well off December’s record-setting high of $137.9 million. The split between sales to state residents and visitors remained stable at $79.8 million and $34.2 million, respectively.—Danny Sullivan
