U.K. Lifts Tariffs On American Whiskey

In case you missed yesterday’s news alert, the U.K. has agreed to lift tariffs on American whiskey effective June 1. The tariffs, which had been in effect since 2018, stemmed from a larger trade dispute over steel and aluminum.

“Tariff-free spirits trade benefited trading partners on both sides of the Atlantic for more than two decades prior to the imposition of the retaliatory tariffs, so the removal of these tariffs will enable Bourbon to resume a great American export success story,” Beam Suntory noted in a statement. Here’s the full story.
