CNBC’s Jim Cramer Launches Fósforo Mezcal

April 5, 2022

Jim Cramer, author and host of CNBC’s Mad Money, and his wife Lisa Detwiler have announced Fósforo, a new mezcal brand. The company is kicking off with two releases—Tobalá ($90) and Penca ($125)—made by mezcalero Aron Alva Sánchez in Huehuetlán el Grande, a village outside of Puebla, Mexico. The initial launch consists of 2,000 cases rolling out in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Florida, California, Michigan, and Ohio over the next few months with more markets coming online as more supply is available.

The brand was born from the pair’s love of mezcal and interest in the growing market for upscale offerings. They’ve partnered with distributors like RNDC in Florida, Wine Warehouse in California, and Romano Brothers in Illinois. “Our goal is to ground our distribution in the specialty stores that drive category credibility, but also make sure that we have a presence in larger chains so that we are available to our consumers,” co-founder Detwiler told SND.—Shane English
