Remy Cointreau Up 21% In Fiscal First Half
October 26, 2022Remy Cointreau saw sales climb 21% to €867 million ($856m) in its fiscal first half ended in September. The performance included an 11.4% increase due to price-mix, and a 10% increase in sales volume. The Americas generated growth of +21% for Remy despite tough comps, while its Asia Pacific and EMEA regions also rose by double-digits. Remy’s Cognac division, led by Remy Martin, was boosted by a strong U.S. performance especially in the first quarter, while Bruichladdich and Cointreau paced the Liqueurs & Spirits Division.
Looking forward, the company said it “expects another year of strong organic growth, including normalization of consumption trends in the second half on the heels of two outstanding years. More specifically, as life ‘returns to normal’ in most regions, overall consumption from H2 on is likely to settle in at ‘new normal’ levels that are well above those observed in 2019/20. At the same time, growth should be tempered by high bases of comparison.” Remy added that it will continue its “policy of sustained investment in marketing and communications, particularly in the second half of the year.”—Daniel Marsteller
