Pernod Ricard Revamps The Glenlivet’s Ultra-Aged Expressions
October 27, 2022Pernod Ricard is now rolling out revamped 21- and 25-year-old Scotch whiskies from The Glenlivet. The new whiskies are bottled at 43% abv and both show off new cask finishes for the ultra-aged expressions from the Speyside brand. The Glenlivet 21 Year Old is finished in a combination of first fill Oloroso sherry, Troncais oak Cognac, and Vintage Colheita port casks, and the 25 Year Old is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry and Troncais oak Cognac casks.
Both whiskies are presented in new bottles and boxes, which the company describes as a more upscale take on The Glenlivet’s traditional packaging. “We’re breaking traditional conventions of what prestigious whiskies taste and look like, and creating a new standard of modern luxury in the category with our most distinguished flavors and premium offering yet,” said brand director Jennifer Schwartz. The largest single malt Scotch whisky brand both globally and in the U.S. market, The Glenlivet has annual U.S. volume of above a half-million cases, according to Impact Databank.
