April 14, 2023•Onda Tequila seltzer has launched a new Tropical Collection variety 8-pack featuring flavors including Peach, Coconut, Guava, and Pineapple. Retailing at $20, the new variety pack will be available in all 35 states where Onda is sold, including at retailers such as BevMo, GoPuff, Total Wine, Whole Foods, Amazon, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Binny’s, Walgreens, Shaw’s, Wegmans, Heinen’s, Giant Eagle, Foxtrot and others. An Impact “Hot Brand,” Onda grew 63% to 260,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Highlands single malt maker Glenglassaugh Distillery has launched a new 46-year-old whisky exclusively in the U.S. The single malt was distilled in 1975 and has matured entirely in an ex-Bourbon cask selected by master blender Rachel Barrie. The whisky is bottled at 41.7% abv and comes in a hand-numbered and wax-sealed bottle. Glenglassaugh 46 carries a suggested price of $4,800 and is available in select locations across the U.S. Glenglassaugh is a Brown-Forman brand.
•Johnson Brothers is adding new markets to its partnership with mixer and RTD brand Zing Zang. Previously, Johnson Brothers represented Zing Zang mixers in West Virginia and North Carolina and its mixers and RTDs in Minnesota. With this new agreement, effective April 1, Johnson Brothers’ will also now handle the brand’s mixers and RTDs in Virginia, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Zing Zang also recently expanded its alliance with Southern Glazer’s. Zing Zang’s RTDs grew 48% to 131,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•NightOwl, a new canned Espresso Martini, has hit shelves in New York and Florida, launching with two SKUs. Both Martinis are canned at 12.5% abv, and they include Tequila and vodka expressions, both with coffee (100mg of caffeine per 200-ml. can) and vanilla flavoring. NightOwl is rolling out now in New York and Florida in 4-packs of 200-ml. cans for a suggested price of $20 a 4-pack. In addition, NightOwl is available to ship DTC to 38 states.
•Louisville, Kentucky’s Hemingway Whiskey Company has announced the another batch of Hemingway Rye Whiskey First Edition, now available at retailers in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida, as well as online. The 50% abv rye blends together 9-year-old (94% of the blend) and 4-year-old ryes (6%) before finishing in rum seasoned Oloroso Sherry casks. The whiskey carries a suggested price of $110 a 750-ml and is the second release for First Edition, following the collectable release from late 2022.
