April 24, 2023•Louisville, Kentucky’s Barrell Craft Spirits has launched Private Release Rye, a new series of limited edition whiskies, with 10 new barrel-finished rye whiskies. The base whiskey is blended from rye sourced from Indiana and Canada, with the company then finishing the spirit in one of the following ten casks: Armagnac, Bourbon, Cognac, Oloroso Sherry, Madeira, Ruby Port, rum, Sauternes, Tokaji, or Pedro Ximenez Sherry. Each batch results in a release of between 150 and 180 bottles with each bottle retailing for a suggested price of $110.
•St. Paul, Minnesota’s Summit Brewing Company has released its latest summer seasonal beer, Lake Crusher Mixed Berry. The 4.8% abv Kölsch-style beer is made with black currant and cranberry puree, and is the fourth release in the brewery’s Crusher line, following Cabin Crusher with Lime, Cabin Crusher with Lemon, and Lake Crusher with Tangerine. The new brew will be available beginning in May in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans as well as in the company’s Crusher Combo pack, featuring all four varieties.
