June 13, 2023•Taub Family Selections is adding to its range with Spain’s Palacios Remondo. Located at high elevations in Rioja Oriental, the Palacios Remondo estate and vineyards are known for Garnacha-based wines. The winery’s U.S. offering includes three expressions: Palacios Remondo Plácet Valtomelloso ($42), Palacios Remondo La Montesa ($22), and Palacios Remondo Propiedad ($55).
•Heaven Hill has announced Square 6 Wheated Bourbon, created at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience in Louisville. The whiskey is blended from two wheated Bourbon recipes, one from a mash of 74% corn, 16% wheat, and 10% malted barley, and the other from 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley before bottling at 52.5% abv. Like all of the Square 6 releases, the whiskies were distilled in one-barrel batches, made each day at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. Square 6 Wheated Bourbon is now available at the Bourbon Experience as well as in select retailers in Kentucky for a suggested price of $90.
•Puerto Rico-based rum maker Destilería Serrallés has released Don Q Naranja. The new orange-flavored aged rum is aged between 12 and 18 months and is the fifth flavored release in the Don Q lineup, following Don Q Coco, Don Q Piña, Don Q Limón, and Don Q Pasión. It’s available now across the U.S. for a suggested price of $15 a 750-ml. Don Q grew 4.6% to 276,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Origins Organic Imports is introducing Pacific Roots Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State’s Columbia Valley. Retailing at $18 a bottle, Pacific Roots is an organic wine initially launching across CA, CO, CT, KS, MN, NJ, NY, OR, and WA with national distribution to follow. The new entry marks the first stateside winemaking foray for Origins Organic owners Labid al Ameri and Anne Bousquet.
•New York-based Loverboy, which produces sparkling teas and RTDs, launched Limoncello Spritz. The canned drink is at 6% abv and is made with no added sugar and 110 calories a can. It’s available now exclusively on Loverboy’s website, where an 8-pack is priced at $40. Loverboy’s sparkling hard tea lineup includes the flavors Hibiscus Lime, White Tea Peach, and Strawberry Lemonade, among others, along with the cocktail options Espresso Martini and Cosmopolitan. The hard tea portfolio is available nationwide at retailers including Total Wine, Whole Foods, and Kroger.
