•Bacardi is launching Tails Cocktails in the U.S. The brand is a line of premixed cocktails, meant to be shaken with ice and poured into a glass. Having already launched in Europe, Tails Cocktails come to the U.S. in three varieties: Lime Daiquiri, made with Bacardi rum; Espresso Martini, made with Eristoff vodka; and Passion Fruit Martini, made with Eristoff as well. A Pomegranate Margarita, made with Cazadores Tequila, will launch later this year as a U.S. exclusive. Each 375-ml. bottle makes 3-4 cocktails at 20% abv. Tails Cocktails are available now in select U.S. markets.

•Z. Alexander Brown Wines, part of the Delicato portfolio, has partnered with Ole Smoky Distillery to release a new whiskey barrel-aged Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2021 vintage of “Uncaged” Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes sourced from California and finished for three months in Ole Smoky’s barrels. The wine is set to hit shelves nationwide in September for a suggested price of $22 a 750-ml.

•Grocery chains Safeway and Albertsons are launching Vine & Cellar, a collection of wines available online for home delivery. Available now exclusively in California, the lineup is curated by Albertsons group vice president of alcohol and master of wine Curtis Mann. Selections range from $10-$1,000+ a bottle, including tasting flights like the 4-bottle Bordeaux Exploratory Bundle ($143) and the 5-bottle California Cabernets Tasting Bundle ($182), as well as standalone bottles like Priest Ranch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 ($45) and Chateau Pesquie Ventoux Silica 2019 Red ($55). Vine & Cellar wines can be purchased through the featured section on the Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions websites and their respective mobile apps. The Vine & Cellar collection expands Albertsons Cos. wine portfolio, which includes private label Vinaforé, Signature Reserve, O Organics and Kaylana wines.

•Brown-Forman has announced the latest release in the Jack Daniel’s Distillery Series, a new Tequila barrel-finished Tennessee whiskey. The 11th release in the series, the newcomer is finished in Añejo Tequila barrels, which were first used to mature Jack Daniel’s before making the trip to Mexico to age Tequila and returning back to Tennessee. Jack Daniel’s Distillery Series #11 is bottled at 45% abv and retails for $42 a 375-ml. at the Jack Daniel’s distillery and in select retailers across Tennessee.

•Count Alexandre de Lur Saluces, who spent 36 years managing Château d’Yquem and was a global ambassador for the Sauternes icon, died July 24. He was 89. During his decades at the helm of Yquem, he guarded the property with a passionate commitment to maintaining the highest possible quality. Wine Spectator has more on his life and career.

•Johnson Brothers has announced an expanded partnership with HiteJinro to now include the state of Indiana. Prior to this agreement, Johnson Brothers represented the portfolio in Minnesota, Hawaii, and North Dakota and recently expanded into Nevada. The Hite and Jinro portfolios include brands such as Jinro Soju and Flavored Soju, Hite Extra Cold Beer, Terra Beer, and others.
