August 9, 2023•Three Olives Vodka, part of the Proximo range, is undergoing a rebrand. In addition to a redesigned bottle for Three Olives’ 13 offerings, both the messaging and the product itself have also been reformulated to speak to consumers looking for better-for-you options. With labels that put calorie counts front and center, the 12 flavored options in the line are now at a lower 30% abv and contain around 80 calories per serving; Three Olives Original is still at 40% abv and contains 100 calories a serving. The new Three Olives lineup is rolling out now nationwide, retailing for $15 a 750-ml. The makeover comes 25 years after the line first launched in 1998.
•Brooklyn, New York’s Widow Jane Distillery, part of the Samson & Surrey portfolio owned by Heaven Hill, has launched Paradigm rye, a new blend of whiskies distilled in New York, Kentucky, and Indiana. The 46.5% abv whiskey is blended five barrels at a time before being proofed down with water sourced from the Rosendale mines in Ulster County, New York. The new release is the first blend from Widow Jane to include whiskies distilled at the company’s Brooklyn distillery. The whiskey is rolling out nationwide for a suggested price of $50 a 750-ml.
•Elevated Spirits, the company behind Cierto Tequila, has appointed a new leadership team, including its first CEO. New CEO Ami-Lynn Bakshi joins Elevated from Diageo, where she was previously vice president of marketing for Tequila. The team at Elevated also includes Jim Ruane as chief growth officer, Laurence Wolfe as COO, and Neal Simons as CFO. The company also recently received investments from prominent athletes like the NBA’s Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, and the NFL’s DeMarcus Lawrence and Xavier Rhodes, among others.
•Suerte Tequila has announced Still Strength Blanco, a new limited edition higher-abv bottling of the brand’s Blanco Tequila. The 52% abv Tequila carries a suggested price of $70 a bottle and will be available in select retailers Colorado retailers and for DTC shipping to 44 states through the brand’s website. Only 1,530 bottles of Still Strength Blanco will be released, with the number chosen to celebrate the distillery’s Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM), the number printed on Tequila labels to identify the distillery.
•FMB brand Johny Bootlegger is introducing a new flavor, Hard Huckleberry. The new entry is rolling out in two different ABVs, 12% or 8%, depending on the state. It joins a Prohibition-era themed Johny Bootlegger lineup that includes 10 flavors, also including Sour Apple, Watermelon, Ice Lemonade, Mango, Fruit Punch, and others.
