September 6, 2023•Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has named Stephanie Silvestre as the distributor’s executive vice president and managing director of the Atlantic Division, effective immediately. In this role, Silvestre will be responsible for leading Southern Glazer’s dedicated team responsible for selling the Constellation Brands portfolio, reporting to chief sales and managing officer, Gene Sullivan. Silvestre has worked at Southern Glazer’s since 2011 and most recently worked as the company’s senior vice president, supply chain & operations strategy. In her new role, she is taking over for Greg Rabinovich, who will remain to support the transition until the end of the year, when he will take on a new position at the company.
•Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has appointed Martignetti Companies to handle its brands in Massachusetts. Effective September 1, the agreement adds to an existing relationship between the two in Rhode Island. It will enable St. Michelle Wine Estates to leverage Martignetti’s resources to promote their portfolio in the New England states and covers brands like Chateau Ste. Michelle, 14 Hands, Columbia Crest, Erath, Patz & Hall, and Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, among others. Ste. Michelle is one of the largest wine companies in the Pacific Northwest.
•Richmond, Virginia-based Winebow has brought its entire wholesale sales team together under the purview of Arjun Dewan, executive vice president, sales, unifying the company’s sales structures. Dewan now leads Winebow’s broad market, chain retail, and national accounts teams, with e-commerce and digital platforms responsibilities handled by Erle Martin, executive vice president, business development. To support the new alignment, the company has promoted Kristi Delovitch to vice president, sales, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.; and Chris Luke to senior vice president, sales, Washington and Idaho.
•Milestone Brands’ Empress 1908 gin has launched a new expression in the U.S., Elderflower Rose gin. The 42.5% abv gin is made with juniper berries, elderflower, orange peel, red rose petals, and black carrot, all distilled at Vancouver Island, Canada’s Victoria Distillers in copper pot stills. The new release is now available in select retailers across the U.S. for a suggested price of $40 a 750-ml. In addition, the gin is available to order through the brand’s website. This is the second U.S. release for Empress, following the brand’s flagship Indigo gin. Last year, Empress 1908 reached 92,000 cases in the U.S., up 40% over 2021, according to Impact Databank.
