October 2, 2023•Winebow is adding Brooklyn’s Misguided Spirits to its portfolio. Misguided Spirits is billed as a “full well solution,” including core vodka, gin, rum, Tequila, and whiskey offerings within one brand. “Offering options for the speed rack is a powerful tool for our salesforce and the perfect fit for so many of our accounts,” said Winebow’s senior vice president, spirits, Jessica Partington. “Misguided Spirits is a company we can all appreciate, and the quality is there at the right price point.” Also, Misguided Vines, a collection of vegan-friendly Sicilian wines, is now available through Winebow in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with broader market launches to come.
•Texas-based Garrison Brothers has partnered with the Houston Rockets and their home the Toyota Center. Under the multi-year deal, the Toyota Center will feature a Garrison Brothers Bourbon Bar on the upper concourse with an adjoining lounge area, featuring three Garrison Brothers Bourbon expressions and seasonal cocktails on tap. Garrison Brothers ultra-premium Bourbon will also be served throughout the arena including on menus for all Toyota Center suites. Garrison Brothers will begin service at Toyota Center officially on October 4 and the fully branded bar and lounge build-out will be completed in late fall.
•Kentucky’s Bardstown Bourbon Company has announced its next two whiskies, set to hit shelves on October 6. Discovery #11 is a blend of three Kentucky Bourbons, aged 13 (73% of the blend), 10 (21%), and 6 (6%) years, and bottled at 59.05% abv. Only 3,000 cases will be available across the distillery’s 24-state distribution footprint, its tasting room, and via Seelbachs. The second release is a collaboration between Bardstown and Napa Valley winery Carter Cellars. The whiskey is a blend of 17-year-old Tennessee Bourbon (49%), 12-year-old Kentucky Bourbon (41%), and 6-year-old Indiana rye (10%) finished for 14 months in Carter Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. The 54.15% abv whiskey carries a suggested price of $160, with roughly 225 cases available.
•Sake-brand Dassai has announced Dassai Blue, a new Junmai Daiginjo sake brewed at the company’s new American brewery in Hyde Park, New York. Blue is made with Yamada Nishiki rice and handmade koji, with the liquid fermented in small batches. The new release carries a suggested price of $35 and is available in New York with further expansion to follow. The brand’s new brewery is a 55,000-square-foot facility with the capability of producing 140,000 9-liter cases of sake per year and also houses a tasting room.
