October 17, 2023•Jackson Family Wines has achieved organic certification for all of its Napa Valley estate vineyard properties through the Certified California Organic Farmers (CCOF) program. Covering approximately 480 planted acres across 15 estate vineyards throughout Napa Valley, the certification marks a milestone in line with Jackson Family’s Rooted for Good: Roadmap to 2030 sustainability initiative. The company’s estate vineyards span from valley floor vineyards in Oakville and Rutherford to hillside and mountain estates in Mt. Veeder, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain, and Diamond Mountain. These vineyards are the primary source for wines including Cardinale, Freemark Abbey, Lokoya, La Jota, Mt. Brave, and Caladan.
•Beam Suntory’s El Tesoro has unveiled the second release in the Mundial Collection, a new Tequila aged in Knob Creek rye barrels. The Añejo Tequila spent a year in the charred oak barrels that held Knob’s rye for seven years. It’s bottled at 40% abv and carries a suggested price of $175 a bottle. This release follows the 2021 debut release from the Mundial Collection, a Tequila aged in Laphroaig single malt barrels. In addition to launching the new edition, Beam Suntory is also releasing another batch of El Tesoro Mundial Collection: Laphroaig Edition, which also retails for $175.
•Brown-Forman has announced the sixth edition of King of Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey. The newcomer is a 16-year-old Bourbon bottled at 62.9% abv. The whiskey was blended from 51 barrels distilled on July 19, 2007 and aged in Warehouse G at the Brown-Forman Distillery. Roughly 3,800 bottles will be released, with the bulk of the whiskey allocated to Kentucky, though some bottles will be available in Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, the New York City metro area, Ohio, and Tennessee. The whiskey is rolling out now and carries a suggested price of $300 a bottle.
•Symington Family Estates has released Graham’s Six Grapes Reserve Ruby Port in 3-liter bottles, exclusively in the on-premise. The move, according to the company, is aimed at elevating on-premise Port service and follows the on-premise launch of Graham’s Tawny Port in 4.5-liter bottles. In addition to launching the large format bottles, the company has partnered with restaurants and chefs to create dessert pairings highlighting Six Grapes.
