Exclusive: Donum Estate Expands Distribution, Partnering With SGWS, Winebow, And Others

Carneros-based Donum Estate is expanding distribution in the national wine market with several new wholesaler deals covering 11 states across the country, extending its reach beyond its home California market. Donum is known for upscale Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with its 2019 Carneros Pinot retailing at $100 and the 2019 Carneros Chardonnay selling at $85. Annual production is approximately 10,000 cases.

Southern Glazer’s will handle Donum in California, Florida, New York, Texas, and Washington, while Winebow will serve as the brand’s distributor in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Prime Wine and Spirits has been tapped in Georgia, Heritage Wine and Spirits in Kentucky, and Momentum Beverage Team in Colorado. This summer Donum acquired the 52-acre Savoy Vineyard in Anderson Valley, which joined its existing portfolio of Carneros, Russian River Valley, Bodega, and existing Anderson Valley vines.—Daniel Marsteller
