MGP Names Bratcher To Succeed Colo As President And CEO

November 2, 2023

MGP Ingredients president and CEO David Colo will retire on December 31, the company announced this morning. Colo will also step down from the company’s board of directors at that time. Succeeding Colo is MGP’s current COO and president of branded spirits, David Bratcher, who has also been nominated for a role on the board, pending preferred stockholder approval. Following his retirement, Colo will continue to work with the company through April 2024 to aid in the transition.

Bratcher came to MGP with the company’s April 2021 acquisition of Luxco, Inc. Luxco now operates as MGP’s brands division, which sits alongside its contract distilling business. The branded portfolio includes such whiskey labels as George Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Rossville Union Straight Rye Whiskey, Ezra Brooks, Rebel, Blood Oath, and Penelope, along with El Mayor, Exotico, and Dos Primos Tequilas.—Shane English
