E-Commerce Player Flaviar, Partnered With RNDC, Acquires Wine-Searcher
December 6, 2023Drinks e-commerce company Flaviar has agreed to purchase wine and spirits database Wine-Searcher for an undisclosed sum. Flaviar is partnered with second-ranked U.S. spirits and wine distributor RNDC, with which it struck a strategic alliance last year.
Flaviar says the Wine-Searcher purchase “adds significant new capabilities” across its business. Wine-Searcher’s database indexes drinks products, prices, locations, producers, and retailers globally. The company says it has over 5 million monthly active users and, with the acquisition by Flaviar, will now be able to facilitate e-commerce sales.
Through its namesake website and Caskers, Flaviar says it facilitates nearly 1 million orders annually through its global retailer network. Its Barcart division, acquired this summer, integrates 3-tier-compliant sales onto third-party websites, routing orders through retailers for fulfillment. Flaviar also has an agency division.
“Our collaboration with Flaviar aims to accelerate the pace of digital transformation within the industry,” said RNDC CEO Nick Mehall. “Since the inception of this partnership, we’ve amplified the value proposition and introduced innovative services to our brand partners. I’m excited to see Flaviar continue to expand its capabilities and market reach.”—Daniel Marsteller
