December 8, 2023•Grenada’s Renegade Rum has launched a new flagship line of rums, including both aged and unaged spirits. Renegade’s All-Island Cuvée Nova ($60 a 750-ml.) is bottled at 46% abv and blends various terroirs, cane types, and aging methods. Single Farm Cuvée: Dunfermline is made from cane distilled on its namesake farm, is bottled at 50% abv, and retails for $70. The third rum is MicrOrigin: Hope, a 55% abv rum made from cane grown on a single plot of a single farm. It carries a suggested price of $80. The final rum is Cuvée: Aura, a 46% abv unaged rum. The new rums are rolling out now to retailers in Illinois, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Kentucky. Texas-based Morf Brands is the brand’s importer.
•New York-based importer and marketer Vintus has appointed Left Bank Wine & Spirits to represent its full portfolio in the Wisconsin market effective in January. Founded by Michael Quinttus, the Vintus range includes include estates such as Chateau Montelena, Marietta Cellars, Gary Farrell, Ponzi Vineyards, E. Guigal, Champagne Bollinger, La Fleur-Pétrus, Ornellaia, Masseto, Luce, Tommasi Family Estates, Sandrone, Juvé & Camps, Dog Point Vineyard, Quinta do Noval and others.
•Waterford Whisky, the Irish single malt maker founded by Scotch whisky veteran Mark Reynier, has released its core collection across the U.S. The trio of whiskies are all bottled at 50% abv. The brand’s flagship release—the Waterford Cuvée—blends 24 single malts together, with the youngest component at 6 years old. Cuvée Gaia is the company’s organic malt, made using only organic barley. The final release is Cuvée Fumo, a peated single malt. Waterford’s flagship and organic releases carry a suggested price of $90 and the peated expression retails for $100.
•Wheel Horse Whiskey, part of Latitude Beverage, has launched Cigar Blend Bourbon, a new limited edition whiskey made at the brand’s Green River Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky. The new Bourbon is first aged for more than four years before finishing in Sherry, Port, and Armagnac casks for six to eight months and bottling at 50.5% abv. The new release carries a suggested price of $40 a bottle and is now available in Wheel Horse’s 20+ state distribution footprint.
