Breakthru Bolsters California Leadership Team

Breakthru Beverage has expanded its California sales leadership team, making appointments in its newest market. Breakthru has named John Sladek and Kristen Demergian as vice presidents of sales for Northern and Southern California, respectively. Both will report to Trevor Thiret, senior vice president of sales, and will work closely with Tandy Harvey, Breakthru’s executive vice president for California.

Sladek has been a member of the Breakthru team since 2018, when he signed on as an Illinois sales director before rising to be Breakthru’s vice president of sales, wine, in Colorado. Demergian joins Breakthru from Firestone Walker Brewing Company, where she most recently served as head of sales. She brings substantial experience in the distribution and supplier tiers. The new appointments follow the news last week that Breakthru will be adding the offerings of Joe Wagner’s Copper Cane Wines & Spiritsto its portfolio in California in January. —Shane English
