The Wine Group, Southern Glazer’s Extend Partnership Into Six New States

Second-largest U.S. wine marketer The Wine Group is expanding on its existing partnership with Southern Glazer’s, with the companies announcing new deals across Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The move builds on the national alliance between The Wine Group and Southern Glazer’s announced last year. According to Impact Databank, The Wine Group has annual U.S. volume of approximately 42 million cases, led by the 20-million-case Franzia brand.

Southern Glazer’s will be exclusively handling The Wine Group’s brands in the six new states effective February 1. The Wine Group said the national alignment allows it to benefit from Southern Glazer’s route-to-market efficiencies, national accounts reach, Proof e-commerce platform, and data and insights capabilities.—Daniel Marsteller
