January 9, 2024•Novato, California-based wine group WX Brands, with annual U.S. volume of above 3.2 million cases, according to Impact Databank, has named current senior vice president of marketing Jeff Ngo as chief commercial officer, overseeing all U.S. sales and global marketing efforts. The company has also appointed Cyndi Oman Dieterich as senior vice president of U.S. sales. She most recently led national sales at Cameron Diaz’s Avaline Wines and prior to that was with RNDC in national account leadership roles. The WX portfolio includes Bread & Butter, Trapiche, True Myth, Chronic Cellars, Baileyana Winery, and others. In addition to its branded stable, the company also develops exclusive wine brands for retailers worldwide, with global volume of over 4 million cases.
•Buffalo Trace master distiller Harlen Wheatley and Grammy-winning musician Chris Stapleton are introducing Traveller Whiskey. Billed as a premium blended whiskey, Traveller is a combination of whiskeys hand-selected from The Sazerac Company’s distilleries and bottled at 90 proof. Traveller Whiskey, named after Stapleton’s first studio album, is now available at retailers, bars, and restaurants nationwide at a suggested retail price of $40.
•Non-alcoholic drinks retailer Boisson, which recently received funding from Pernod Ricard’s venture capital arm Convivialité Ventures, has formed new partnerships with distributors LibDib and KeHe as it looks to expand in the wholesale segment. The push will focus on key growth markets, including New York, California, and soon Miami, where Boisson has physical retail locations. Boisson recently appointed Breakthru veteran Jill Sites as vice president of wholesale to oversee the effort, which will see the company expand global non-alcoholic drinks brands like Kolonne Null, Giffard NA, Caleño, Pentire, Everleaf, Little Saints, Wilfreds, Haus of Babylon, and Misty Cliffs into new channels.
