•Olav Goelet has taken on the role of CEO at Clos du Val in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. A third-generation owner of the company, Goelet joined the family operation in 2019 and served as Clos du Val’s head of winegrowing as well as chairman. Now he’s taking on the CEO role held the past few years by Mike Holden, who will continue with the winery in an advisory role. Clos du Val specializes in Bordeaux-style wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. The flagship wine of the estate is Yettalil, retailing at around $200 a bottle.

•Minnesota-based Artisan Beer Company, part of Johnson Brothers, has acquired distribution rights to the BlackStack Brewing portfolio in the Minnesota market. BlackStack Brewing is a St. Paul-based craft brewery founded in 2017 by the late Scott Johnson (no relation) and Shawne Murphy Johnson, their sons, Murphy Johnson and Cooper Johnson, and their daughter, Quinn Johnson. BlackStack Brewing is known for hop-forward beers like flagship “Local 755,” lagers, and fruited sours. Last year, with the legalization of THC in Minnesota, the company introduced hemp-derived THC drinks called BlackStack Real Trees, which has quickly gained popularity, and is also part of the Artisan portfolio.
