RNDC Sees E-Commerce Platform Reach $800 Million, Expands Alignment With Flor de Caña

February 1, 2024

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) saw online sales through the eRNDC e-commerce platform reach $800 million in annual sales and $1.7 billion in lifetime sales in 2023. The platform saw 32% year-over-year growth in the number of monthly active customers. The e-commerce site now reaches customers in 21 states and features more than 6,700 brands.

“A large and growing number of our customers are now embracing B2B eCommerce as a complementary vehicle to engage with us,” said Nick Mehall, president and CEO, RNDC. “eRNDC has demonstrated significant market adoption over the past twelve months.” In terms of recent trends on eRNDC, the company noted that searches for luxury, super-premium, and ultra-premium spirits have continuously trended up, while Champagne, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sakes are the top categories for wines.

Meanwhile, RNDC and Luxury Spirits International have inked a new deal, with the distributor taking on Flor de Caña rum in 10 new markets. The expansion covers Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., further extending the rum brand’s national alignment with RNDC. Flor de Caña has U.S. volume of approximately 200,000 cases, according to Impact Databank. The Nicaraguan rum brand set up the Luxury Spirits International import company in 2022, led by industry veteran Marc Hirten.

Additionally, Luxury Spirits International has become the importer for Camus Cognac in the U.S., effective immediately. Both Flor de Caña and Camus Cognac are family owned and operated by fifth generation family members. “We already work well with Flor de Caña in the Chinese and French domestic markets where our subsidiaries distribute the brand and are excited for the expansion of this partnership,” said president Cyril Camus. “We look forward to growing our footprint in the U.S. with the LSI team.”—Daniel Marsteller
