February 13, 2024•Israel’s Carmel Winery is launching a new wine from its Signature series, Carmel Black Cabernet Sauvignon. Retailing at $30 a bottle, the kosher offering was made in Galilee and was aged in French oak barrels for 14 months. It joins the brand’s Carmel Mediterranean Vats ($30), Single Vineyard ($45), Carmel Mediterranean ($60), and Carmel flagship wine Limited Edition ($99) in the portfolio. Carmel Winery is part of the Royal Wine Corp portfolio.
•Louisville-based blending house Four Gate Whiskey Co. and Texas-based Maverick Distilling are introducing new bottlings. Four Gate’s is Batch 29 Triple Oak, which carries an age statement of 7 years and 9 months old, is bottled at 53.8% abv, and retails at $199. Maverick is debuting Double Barrel Bourbon Rodeo Edition, made from Texas-sourced distillate with a mashbill of 72% Texas-grown corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, and an abv of 57.5%. •Musicians Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have entered the RTD market with Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop. The 5.9% abv canned cocktails are available in four flavors—Citrus, Melon, Passionfruit, and Apricot—all packaged in 12-ounce cans. The new company is led by the founders of On the Rocks Cocktails, which is now part of the Beam Suntory portfolio: Patrick Halbert, Andrew Gill, and Rocco Milano. Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop will be available nationally through Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Other investors include Jimmy Iovine, Main Street Advisors, Marc Rowan, and Tom Werner.
•High n’ Wicked has announced their latest release, a new collaboration between the importer/bottler and Foursquare rum. The whiskey—a single grain Irish offering made from 95% French maize and 5% malted barley—was distilled in County Cork, Ireland and primarily aged in ex-Bourbon barrels before finishing for six months in Barbados rum casks from Foursquare. The whiskey is bottled at 50% abv and carries a suggested price of $80 a bottle. It’s now available in select markets across the U.S. as well as through the brand’s website.
