February 29, 2024•Brugal rum, part of the Edrington portfolio, is introducing a new permanent luxury offering, Maestro Reserva. Retailing at $200 a bottle, Maestro Reserva will be available in Florida, Texas, and New Jersey this month, with more markets rolling out over the course of the year. The 41.2% abv offering is aged in American sherry oak casks featuring what Brugal calls a “dark aromatic toasting” technique. The Dominican Republic rum brand has U.S. volume of above 100,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
•Nevada-based Frey Ranch has added five new markets to its distribution portfolio, entering Texas, Ohio, Oregon, Arizona, and Georgia. The farm-to-glass distillery has also entered into an agreement with Albertsons to bring Frey Ranch’s whiskies to 118 retail locations in Arizona and Nevada. The new markets bring Frey Ranch’s distribution footprint to seven states, also including its home state and California. The moves also coincide with the company’s tenth anniversary, which Frey will celebrate with a special edition bottling later this year.
