March 8, 2024•Winebow Imports is introducing Flora Lisa, a super-premium Pinot Grigio made from organic grapes from Italy’s Abruzzo region. Flora Lisa is produced exclusively for Winebow by longtime partner Passione Natura, which specializes in organic and biodynamic wine. The Passione Natura winery was founded by the Pizzolo family of vintners. Grown in Abruzzo’s Terre di Chieti IGP, located along the Adriatic Coast, Flora Lisa retails at $18 and is launching in select markets in April.
•Lux Row Distillers, part of MGP’s Luxco portfolio, has expanded Rebel Bourbon with a new 6-year-old expression. The whiskey, bottled at 50% abv, is made from the brand’s traditional wheated mashbill and carries a suggested retail price of $60 a bottle. Rebel 100 6-Year Bourbon is rolling out now and will be available in retailers across the U.S. later this month. MGP’s branded portfolio, including Rebel, has seen considerable success over the last year with the company noting, in its fiscal 2024 results, that branded spirits were up 24% for the year. Rebel grew 4% to 157,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Brown-Forman has announced the latest limited release from Old Forester, High Angels’ Share. The 55% abv Bourbon is selected from high-evaporation barrels. The whiskey, part of Old Forester’s 117 Series, carries a suggested price of $60 a 375-ml. bottle and will be available in limited retail in Kentucky as well as at the Old Forester Distillery and through the brand’s website. It commemorates Caleb Trigo’s appointment to assistant master distiller. Last year, Old Forester reached 485,000 cases, up 13.5%, in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Texas-based Shiner Bock has announced, “It’s a Texas Thing,” a new ad campaign starring actor Jesse Plemons. The campaign will debut in Texas on March 10 during the Oscars with a 30-second spot before airing on social media, YouTube, and TV with a variety of 15- and 30-second ads. “It’s a Texas Thing” was made with creative agency Bakery and director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. The campaign is timed to the national rollout of Shiner Bock’s new refreshed packaging.
