March 13, 2024•Winebow Imports is adding Oregon’s Cooper Mountain Vineyards to its portfolio. Known for organic and biodynamic winegrowing, Cooper Mountain has 200 acres in the Willamette Valley. Winebow will be handling Cooper Hill Pinot Noir ($25); Cooper Mountain Chardonnay ($25), Pinot Noir ($35), Pinot Gris ($35), Gamay ($25), and Oyster White ($28); and Cooper Mountain Pinot Noir Life ($40). Ian Downey, Winebow Imports’ executive vice president, noted that Cooper Mountain has been part of Winebow’s wholesale portfolio in some markets previously and will now join its national stable of brands.
•J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has launched new packaging for the company’s Riverstone Chardonnay, timed to the winery’s 50th anniversary. The refreshed branding includes quince flowers, a “Barrel Fermented, Barrel Aged” description, and a Certified California Sustainable marker. The new packaging is rolling out now across the U.S. where the wine is available in 3-liter, 1.5-liter, 750-ml., and 375-ml. bottles. J. Lohr’s volume is roughly 1.5 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Pernod Ricard-owned Irish Distillers has announced Gold Spot The Generations Edition, a new limited-release single pot still whiskey. The 46% abv whiskey is bottled at 13 years old and continues the Spot brand’s tradition of collaborating with wineries from around the world. After its initial maturation, The Generations Edition finishes for 16 months in Valpolicella Classico barrels from the Secondo Marco winery. Gold Spot The Generations Edition is now available in limited quantities in the U.S. for a suggested price of $164 a 700-ml.
•Mingle Mocktails has signed on with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) in a new national distribution partnership. Mingle’s sparkling non-alcoholic beverages come in six flavors—Cranberry Cosmo, Key Lime Margarita, Blackberry Hibiscus Bellini, Blood Orange Elderflower Mimosa, Cucumber Melon Mojito, and Moscow Mule—and are sold in chain retailers and grocery stores across the U.S. The RNDC deal brings Mingle to 30 new markets and comes ahead of two new products from the brand, set to be announced on April 1.
