March 18, 2024•Brown-Forman has released Jack & Ginger Ale, the latest spirits-based RTD from Jack Daniel’s. The 7% abv drink comes in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans for around $13 or individual 12-ounce cans for around $3.50. Jack & Ginger Ale is now available across the U.S. The new release joins Jack Daniel’s other spirits-based RTDs like Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola, Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and Jack Honey & Lemonade. Last year, Jack Daniel’s RTDs more than doubled in size, topping 1 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Newport, Kentucky’s New Riff has expanded into four new states, bringing the distillery’s total footprint to 31 markets across the U.S. In January, New Riff marked the first step in this expansion, partnering with Wines Unlimited to enter Louisiana. In February, the distillery added South Carolina through Advantage Distributing. Now, the company has announced that it will soon launch in North Carolina and Georgia, through RNDC and Empire Distributors, respectively. The distribution expansion comes on the heels of New Riff’s latest release, an 8-year-old Bourbon bottled at 50% abv and retailing for a suggested price of $68.
•Alexandria, Virginia-based importer Empson USA has expanded its team. Giovanni Caveggia has taken on the newly created role of director of portfolio management. In this role Caveggia, who has over two decades of experience growing Italian brands in the U.S., will further develop Empson’s Italian portfolio. In addition, Empson has named Mindy Garcia as national accounts manager, western region. She previously worked as a strategic account manager at Frederick Wildman & Sons, among other positions in the wine industry. Empson’s range includes estates from Italy, Spain, Chile, New Zealand, and the USA.
•Juneau’s Alaskan Brewing Company has released Wildness, the latest addition to the brewery’s core lineup. The 5% abv beer is made using a cold fermentation process that the company says allows it to take advantage of the brewery’s natural environment and embody the local climate in a beer. Wildness is now available across Alaskan’s distribution footprint in 6- and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans.
