Exclusive: Palm Bay Forms Strategic Partnership With RNDC

New York-based importer and marketer Palm Bay International has formed a new strategic partnership with Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) that will see the two companies align across 31 states and the District of Columbia. The move represents a significant expansion of their existing partnership.

Under the new agreement, RNDC is picking up Palm Bay’s brands in new markets including Florida, New York, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, as well as some new Palm Bay business in Oklahoma. In addition, RNDC is gaining wines from Taub Family Selections in Texas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. The two companies will also be partnered across control states under the new deal. They’re already linked in open markets like California, Washington D.C., Colorado, and Arizona, among others.

Palm Bay’s portfolio is led by Italy’s Cavit, which ranks as the third-largest imported wine brand in the U.S. in volume terms at an estimated 3.76 million cases in 2023, according to Impact Databank. Fellow Italian label Roscato is another key Palm Bay brand, with annual volume of above 1 million cases. Lunetta Prosecco was at 210,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank’s estimate, while Drumshanbo gin was up 5% to 64,000 cases.

Meanwhile, the company, owned by the Taub family, has brought together the Palm Bay International and Taub Family Selections operations to coexist under the Palm Bay International banner. Taub Family Selections will operate as a specialized division within the company, whose new corporate branding as Palm Bay International effectively takes the place of the former “Taub Family Companies” name.

Of the expanded partnership with RNDC, Palm Bay president and CEO Marc Taub said, “Our organizations share incredible synergy in terms of mutual values, collaborative growth mindset, and a focus on operational excellence and prioritization at every level.”
