Lucas Bols USA Adding Celeb-Backed Muff Liquor Co. To Portfolio

Lucas Bols USA has added Ireland’s Muff Liquor Company to its import portfolio, and is set to officially launch Muff’s range in October. Muff’s portfolio consists of three spirits: a vodka, gin, and whiskey. The vodka and gin are made from potatoes, with the gin using botanicals like mandarin, rosemary, lemon, elderflower, and champagne extract, among others. Muff’s whiskey is a blend made from five component whiskies.

Muff, founded in 2017 by Laura Bonner and Tom Russell, counts celebrities like Russell Crowe, Ed Sheeran, and Jimmy Carr, among others, as investors. Lucas Bols USA is known for its 300,000-case Bols liqueur brand as well as a range of labels including Tequila Partida, Galliano and Passoa liqueurs, and Pallini Limoncello among others. Fellow Netherlands-based company The Nolet Group, makers of Ketel One, agreed to acquire Lucas Bols for $285 million last year.—Shane English
